Teardrop Banner Origins

The Idea

Over a century ago, the Teardrop Banner (aka. Flying Banner) was developed by a man who believed that if he stared at a fishing rod long enough he would come up with a brilliant idea. Through creative thinking he bent the tip of the fishing rod and applied fabric under tension and created the first tear drop shaped banner.

No one could have been prepared for the impact this simple innovation would have on the advertising flag industry. Not only did the unique teardrop shape catch the eye of passers by, it also had a practical function too - with the banner under tension from the curved pole the flapping was greatly reduced which increased the life span of the fabric.

From its humble beginnings in 1999, our Teardrop Banners have gone on to conquer the world. The design has been continuously refined and improved making it the toughest in today
